Family Ties.

I decided to start posting  old photos of family here on my blog  for family and others to see , and will be adding  others under this post, as I find them  share for those working on geneology, or wanting to know about the family. .

This is the family of Williiam  H   and Maude (Spencer) . I believe it must have been taken around 1928-30. Pictured left to right are:

Walter, Helen(Smith)   Grace(Johnson) , Elizabeth ( Flach) ,Howard W, Mary (Breyman) and   William Henry Wellman, nicknamed "Hank".

. Grandma Maude died in 1910 when dad was just 13 and Mary was a baby. In the picture was Mary, Grace and Helen. Helen was born in 1900 and died at the age of 30 from a bowel obstruction Mom said. No surgery for something like that then. Aunt Mary was just a baby when Maude died; Aunt Bess(Elizabth)  came home from Northern U. college to help raise the family. She had went there to be a teacher. At the age of 16 dad didn't take to having an older sister raising him; you can imagine the sibling rivalry..so he set out to see the world working on the pipeline and a year later joined the Navy during WWI.
