Easiest ever...Home made Pickles

Mom got this recipe when she went down to stay the winter at Harlingen at Sunshine RV park..they had weekly dinners there and one of the ladies brought these...said it was her "guarded secret" but shared it with the ladies there.(.it is no longer a secret!) ...saw it on the internet one day , then remembering mom telling me about it as she made them, when she returned home one Christmas
these are so yummy..give them a try.   You will love them!

" Home Made" Pickles

1 quart whole DILL pickles( yep, can be store bought)
1 tsp. celery seed * ( mom used a clove of garlic)
simple syrup ~ recipe as follows:
1 cup water & 1 1/2 cups sugar ~boil for 5
minutes

Empty the pickles into a colander and rinse out the jar. Slice the
pickles into rounds or long thin strips and place them back into the
jar ( mom cut hers into chuncks) . Sprinkle the celery seed over the sliced pickles and pour the
boiling syrup over top. Replace the lid on the jar (make sure you
have a tight seal) and turn it upside down on the counter top for at
least 12 hours. The pickles are now ready to eat. Turn the jar right
side up and store them in refrigerator. This recipe is easy to
double, triple... I have to make them by the gallon!

* you can also use pickling spice if you would like a more intense
flavor
THESE PICKLES ARE SO GOOD.., AND THEY ARE CRISP ... A BIG HIT AT CHURCH DINNERS TOO.
