American Pickers/ LeClaire Iowa

Bob and I had the wonderful opportunity Tuesday to join our cousin Judy, sister Helen  , niece Bailey, and  Danielle of American Pickers  in Le Claire Iowa for lunch and shopping..
LeClaire, Iowa, a Midwestern historic town, is  located where Interstate 80 crosses the Mississippi River. As the birthplace of Buffalo Bill and known as the town "where the river pilots lived" the  city's heritage is fascinating. Today LeClaire is experiencing a rebirth in development, due to our location, excellent schools, churches, civic organizations, attractions and events. In the past year they are enjoying interest as it is also the home of three people that have made the History channel's #2 spot  in "American Pickers" It is a huge success. Mike , Frank and Danielle all live and participate in this community  and are well known and loved by those who live there .. "Antique Archeology",their shop, is  near the down town area.  When we arrived to our destination, I was not surprised to see tourist there snapping puictures of their cars and building, prior to its opening that day. We were looking for Danielle and this nice looking man wearing a hat looked across the fence ,  informing us she would be there soon..he reminded me of a younger  and cuter version . of " Wilson" of Home Improvement.
We started our day by joining Danielle for lunch at the Crane and Pelican Restraunt..a lovely old victoian home. then we went to see the shop at Antique Archeology and enjoyed seeing all the treasures they had..some familiar from shows we saw this past year, including the one cousin Judy was featured. BTW, they came up to Judy's warehouse again for another pick and  this will be showing soon on American Pickers. ( they are to have 26 episodes this Fall, )Next we went to several shops down town,  They were so unique, and  the shop keepers all friendly and welcoming us to Leclaire. I have to admit, I spent way too much money...the items offered  were so nice! ...Enjoy the pictures.we had such a wonderful day..I highly recommend a visit to LeClaire to all!

We went to Aunt Hattie's Fanciful Emporium ( nostalgic items and fanciful things) ,Buffalo Bill Museum ,Iowa Peddler Gift Shop, LeClaire Antiques ,Mississippi Cottage Antiques, Razzleberries Fine Gifts plus other gift and antique shops..there are several.

See Le Claire's own, Mike Wolfe, host "American Pickers"

Meet Mike, Frank and Danielle June 4th-5th American Picker's Weekend.
