Helen wellman school house

 Here is the plat for that school. Not surprised to see that Vaupel was the name of the property owner..This old school no longer stands but my aunt Helen Wellman was its first teacher. The Vaupel/Wellman School was located on the northwest corner of Pipeline and Ashton roads in Bradford Township. Lee Co. It became part of school District 271 on 1948. ( which then closed) This info was published in a book that my sister has

    Aunt Helen was dads sister . They added her name after she died from cancer. She was very good and respected by her students . I am 74 but when in nurses training my younger years , an elderly patient saw my name tag and asked if Helen Wellman was my relation. I said my aunt , that I never had met. He had such praise for her and was so good to meet someone she Had taught.
