First Congregational UCC of Lee Center Il.  Camp Scholarship Guidelines and Application Information

 Scholarship Opportunities  . Our church  has been generously endowed by church members who have, through gifts . fundraisers and memorials, established a  Christian scholarship  camp fund that provides financial resources to our youth  8 years and older . The value of each scholarship will vary according to financial resources available, youth participation in church attendance and activities, and also  the number of qualified applicants. The church council will review all applications turned in by March 1st and determine qualified applicants . The application to camp scholarship,  turned in to the to council by March 1st ,  will ask  have they participated   in church activities and worship services at our church and tell council about them. It will also ask why they want to go to camp. If accepted by council, camp registrations will be given to applicants parents to complete before next council meeting. . Council will determine applicants camp fee , if any due, depending on funds available in camping fund and personally.  Outdoor ministries also has camp scholarships where parents pay 1/3, church 1/3 and Outdoor ministries 1/3 in cases applicable. Outdoor Ministries of Pilgrim Park of Princeton Illinois is our church designated camp for youth. http://il-outdoorministries.org/  If necessary to cancel registration, cancellations must be made no later than 2 weeks prior to the event in order or receive a refund ($50.00 will be held as a cancellation service fee).
 Application Procedure 1. Applications for church assistance to camp will become available at the beginning of January   during the year of application. Applications may be picked up at the church  resource table at first of year or may be acquired from the church council member  who has info in church  file.     2. Completed applications, age , a letter of child's church activity participation will be turned in  by March 1st . After reviewing all applications, the Camp Scholarship Committee ( church council ) will contact all applicants verbally , phone or  by mail and give the parents  camp registration info. to complete in full, and return to council member asap   .  The scholarship recipients will be announced during a worship service  .Camping youth will be asked to  briefly tell us about their  camping experience, once they return.   This application is for one church year, however a  child may reapply in following years if qualifications are met.
 The camp scholarship will apply to only children that attend our church  worship services.
