Just when I thought my canning was done for the year, my brother Don called, to tell me they have a lot of pears to share this year. We love to eat pears with cottage cheese when dieting...so Bob and I drove down to gather up some pears! Sure enough, their two trees were loaded with pears! Several had fallen after a windy day before, so we picked most off the ground and a few from the tree...4 boxes full. There were some bruised areas to cut around, but for the most part, they were in excellent condition...juicy and sweet! It took two days, but got 30 quarts of them canned and stored away.
Now..I am done canning..right!?
